| | The Orange County Sheriff’s Department County Wide Law Enforcement Unsolved Element (C.L.U.E.) investigates homicides within the Sheriff’s jurisdiction that lack definitive closure. The CLUE team reviews, classifies and prioritizes all of these unsolved murders.
CLUE analyzes results from evidence examinations generated from new forensic techniques that are applied by Sheriff’s Department’s Forensic Science Services. Case priority is based on, but not limited to, DNA evidence, latent prints and witnesses associated with the case. Efforts of the CLUE team are concentrated on those cases that have the highest priority for resolution and on cases, whose offender or offenders are deemed to be career criminals, repeat offenders or habitual offenders. CLUE will also actively support any outside agency that requests assistance with a murder investigation. Assistance provided by CLUE is facilitated by all of the resources available to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. |
