It is the mission of the Orange County Sheriff’s Security Bureau to provide safety and security to all people with responsive and professional police services. The men and women of the Security Bureau value Integrity, Trust, Respect, and Fairness in the performance of their duties and are committed to protecting persons and property while serving as role models to our community and our contract partners.
Established in 1984, the North Operations Security Bureau provides responsive, professional and caring law enforcement services to all people of Orange County. Sixty employees, both sworn and professional staff, make up the Bureau. Forty nine Sheriff's Special Officers supported by a bureau commander, two sergeants, four deputy sheriffs and four clerical personnel ensure a uniform law enforcement presence is maintained at 27 county facilities that contract with the Sheriff's Department. Contract agencies include the Chief Executive Office, Social Services, Child Support Services, Probation and Health Care.
The Security Bureau's mission is to provide a deterrent for unlawful activities and respond to emergencies and life threatening or serious crimes in progress at county buildings. We assist people in resolving problems through direct intervention or referral to an appropriate agency. We assist the citizens of Orange County build and strengthen their capacity to resist crime and safely receive services.
