The Drug Liaison Officer program (DLO) was started by Sheriff Sandra Hutchens in 2010 during her first campaign with the intent of identifying community drug education needs and create drug and social trend education opportunities in collaboration with existing department, public, and private sector stakeholders. This program was initially started with deputies representing each of our contract cities, unincorporated areas, and Coroners Division. Today the program as expanded to include the jails, courts, John Wayne Airport, Orange County Transit Authority, and Reserve Bureau.
One of the main focuses of the programs is to build positive relationships in the communities and to make themselves available to answer any questions related to drugs and if need be, refer them to one of the departments partnered drug prevention groups for further assistance. The public may also request drug education presentations within their communities. For more information please contact the DLO representing your community or the Community Services Drug Education Sgt. Mike Pixomatis at (714) 647-1806.
The Community Services Office is designed to support and enhance existing programs and act as a drug education clearinghouse. Please click here for additional information reference partnered outreach groups.
