The Training Unit is comprised of one Chief Training Officer position. This individual is responsible for administering the mandated POST approved basic death investigation training for Deputy Coroners and expanding much needed specialized Coroner training programs. His numerous duties are offset by the Chief Deputy Coroner, Assistant Chief Deputy Coroner, Coroner Clerical staff, and Sheriff’s AOT staff. He participates in curriculum development with POST and others from throughout the state and is POST Training Coordinator for the California State Coroners' Association.
