| OCSD Explorers with their Advisors |
| From June 12 through June 18, eleven sheriff's explorers competed in the 2005 Colorado LEEPAAC Conference in Greeley, Colorado. Explorer Coordinator Deputy Dan Daniels, West Division Advisor Deputy William Simandl and Rancho Santa Margarita Advisor C.S.T. Rachel Koeller supervised the Explorers. The Sheriff's team competed against over 300 explorers from throughout the United States. Orange County Sheriff's Explorer Post 449 earned a very impressive, two first place metals: Individual Car Stop - Explorer Michael Grijalva and Crisis Intervention - Explorer Matthew Padilla. Explorer Glenn Tibay earned a second place metal for Crime Scene Investigation. The Explorer Post earned three third place metals: Active Shooter - Explorer Todd Rhue, Cell Incident - Explorer Andrew Ha, and Traffic Investigation - Explorer Rachel Samala. Explorer Alison Tornow earned a fourth place metal for Crime Scene Investigation and Explorer Matthew Padilla earned a fifth place metal for Cell Incident.
