(Santa Ana) At the January 25, 2011, Board of Supervisors meeting, First District Supervisor Janet Nguyen was appointed to several boards and commissions by her colleagues. These appointments will allow her to continue her leadership and commitment to making government accessible to the community.

In December of 2010, Supervisor Nguyen completed her leadership as Chair of the Board of Supervisors. She also served as Vice Chair of the Board of Supervisors in 2009.

Supervisor Nguyen was reappointed to the Orange County Children’s Partnership, the Orange County Fire Authority, the Orange County Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, the Orange County Sanitation District, the National Association of Counties and the Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency. Supervisor Nguyen was also appointed to serve on the Orange County Council of Governments and she replaces Supervisor John Moorlach as the regular member for the CalOptima Board of Directors.

Supervisor Nguyen also continues her extensive service on the Orange County Transportation Authority Board of Directors. In 2011, Supervisor Nguyen will serve as Chair of the Legislative Committee and Vice Chair of the Transit Committee.

“It is an honor for me to serve my constituents and represent the Board of Supervisors and the First District on the various boards and commissions they have appointed me to,” said Supervisor Janet Nguyen. “I appreciate the opportunity to serve and I look forward to all we will accomplish this year.”

Supervisor Janet Nguyen served as Chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors in 2010, and represents the First District.
