Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Game on March 9 in Mission Viejo
When is a softball game more than a softball game? When one team’s players have returned home from military service seriously injured, and they still want to play competitive ball.
The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team will take on the OC Veterans & First Responders Softball Team, comprised of 11 OCSD deputies, veterans, firefighters, and other first responders. The game will take place this Saturday, March 9 at 1 p.m. at the Youth Athletic Park Lake Mission Viejo. Youth Athletic Park- Field 4 22056 Olympiad Road, Mission Viejo, California. Park entrance is near the intersection of Marguerite Parkway and Olympiad.
$25 entry fee includes admission, barbecue meal and raffle ticket $10 Youth 17 and under FREE admission for kids 5 and under $5 discount for members of the military and veterans - ID required, gate purchase only. Bleacher and Lawn seating
GAME 1: The Wounded Warrior team is composed of players from all over the U.S. who have returned home from military service with wounds requiring amputation. The Orange County Veterans and First Responders team is made up of Orange County law enforcement (11 OCSD deputies), vets, firefighters, and first responders.
GAME 2: The second three-inning celebrity exhibition game will feature two teams, each including Wounded Warrior players and professional athletes. Celebrity athletes to date include:
