Orange County Jails Provide Food for the Needy

Orange County jails Musick and Theo Lacy are both facilitating programs that provide non-profits with food for those in need.

Musick, nicknamed "The Farm", grows its own produce on site, including watermelon, cantaloupe and lettuce. The products are not only enjoyed by inmates, but also donated to the Orange County Food Bank every week.

In addition to the wonderful work being done at Musick, the Theo Lacy facility recently began its own food recycling program.  Through the new program any leftover food that is not utilized is donated, with the help of Food Finders, to the Salvation Army and St. Francis Home in Santa Ana.

Please see the below OC Register articles to learn more about the wonderful work these facilities are doing.
