City of Stanton Overview
The Orange County Sheriff's Department is proud to be the provider of local law enforcement services for the City of Stanton. The Sheriff's Department has provided law enforcement services to the City of Stanton since February of 1988 when the City Police Department and Sheriff’s Department merged.
Incorporated on June 4, 1956, Stanton is governed by a Council-Manager form of government, encompasses an area of 3.1 square miles and is home to just over 39,000 residents. Bordered by Cypress, Garden Grove, and Anaheim, the City is home to the Adventure City Amusement Park. A major portion of property on Beach Boulevard is being developed as the Renaissance Plaza which will include condominiums and retail stores and restaurants. Stanton is home to three public and two private elementary schools, one private intermediate / high school, and one public library.
The Stanton Sheriff’s Station is located at 11100 Cedar Street, Stanton, CA 90600. The building was originally occupied by the Stanton Police Department in 1971. The mailing address is Box 8, Stanton, CA 90680.
Lieutenant Jeff Passalaqua, a 25 year veteran of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, serves as the Chief of Police Services for the City of Stanton. As part of his responsibilities, Lieutenant Passalaqua manages 5 Sergeants, 3 Investigators, 2 Investigative Aides, 24 Deputy Sheriffs, and 2 additional professional staff members. The Sheriff’s Department provides full police services for the city.
In addition to the patrol and investigative services offered directly from Stanton Police Services, the Sheriff’s Department also provides street and regional narcotics suppression programs, a Gang Enforcement Team (GET), a mounted unit, a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, the Hazardous Devices (BOMB) Squad, hostage negotiations, numerous special investigation units, helicopter patrols, the Drug Use Is Life Abuse (DUILA) drug education program, and a large complement of professional service and patrol trained Reserve Deputy Sheriffs, many of whom volunteer their time for City events such as Summerfest and the Annual Classic Car show.
The Stanton Investigative Unit provides investigative services for the City of Stanton, pursuing to conclusion all cases generated from reports taken by the patrol deputies. These cases involve all crimes except homicide, rape, fraud, vice and narcotics, which are handled by the appropriate specialty detail of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s, Criminal Investigations Division.
Stanton Police Services also has a Directed Patrol Team consisting of 2 Deputies that work specialized patrol and investigative assignments to target specific problem areas within the City. They are also involved in a collaborative program with the Anaheim Police Department, the G.R.I.P. program, Gang Reduction and Intervention Program. This program targets as risk youth in the elementary schools They also provide school programs that include student safety, drug education, and pedestrian and bicycle safety presentations. These Deputies also work the Bicycle Patrol Unit which is supplemented by other Deputies when available and needed. They also support the Neighborhood and Business Watch Programs. As Chief of Police Services, I am truly honored to have been selected to lead the outstanding group of professionals who comprise Stanton Police Services. What an exciting time, with the remodel of our station to the newly formed leadership in both the city and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. I encourage everyone to join in a partnership with us to make Stanton one of the safest cities in North Orange County. In the short time I have served this community, it is evident this city definitely has “Community Pride and Forward Vision”.
